Lampwork beads have been a passion of mine for many years. In 2005 I began making jewelry with them and found that I really enjoyed it. I sold some online, but now with my own storefront I have my very own space to work one on one with jewelry lovers. I have a very diverse assortment premade, but I love to do custom work too. Although I prefer to work with artisan lampwork beads and handmade silver from Bali and Thailand, I work with all kinds of mediums. This last year proved to be exceptionally rewarding because my mom started helping me sort through my beads and we discovered a hidden talent when I let her help me string a bracelet. She has a great eye for color and bead combination. So we have been able to spend some quality time together as she is now designing jewelry also. Lately I have been working with add-a-bead bangles and chains. The ends twist off allowing beads to be removed and added. Therefore, I have a great inventory of artisan glass, sterling silver, Swarovski and semi-precious large hole beads that fit Pandora, Troll, Biagi and Chamilia bracelets.
For the bead lover, I have gorgeous sets of lampwork beads. Sit down for lunch, dump a bowl of beads and enjoy the mystery that only borosilicate glass can bring to beads.
Whatever your reason for coming in, grab a table and make yourself comfortable. We want you to feel at home.

If I needed to make a mission statement for the Top of the Hill Café it would be “to fill the body with comforting food and the soul with friendship so you are already anticipating your next visit”. j.k.
Quaint is the best word to describe the café. The décor is warm and inviting. Sue Guilette, a Door County artist, painted a mural of an oak tree with leaves in a colorful fall palette on an entire wall. Leaf and berry arrangements are table centerpieces made by friend Cindy Euclide.
One of our favorite attractions is the Osprey nest located on a cellphone transmitter antenna tower platform within viewing distance of the cafe. Osprey, like Eagles, build huge nests and due to their large wing span are very graceful and fun to watch. Our particular Osprey had two fledgling this spring and were kind enough to share many wonderful views of them for our friends in the cafe to see through the binoculars that we keep handy. Osprey belong to the Owl family and feed only on freshwater fish. They mate for life and we hope they continue to consider Fish Creek their home.
Food is served and condiments are displayed on Fiestaware in the colors of the mural leaves. Food design, presentation and quality are all as important as taste to owner Jamie Kaus. She uses the same quality ingredients and puts the same time and love into her cooking as she does to that of her family.
Dixie’s Homestyle Preserves are made available for purchase at a very reasonable price in the front of the café. Dixie’s Chopped Cherry Jam is served at breakfast with our thick sliced toast. It is fabulous and many go home with a jar for themselves and a jar as a treat for grandparents or the neighbor watching the house as they vacation. The storefront also offers fruit syrups, pie fillings, ice cream toppings and many other flavor jams, including sugar free. Jorns Sugarbush maple syrup, Cherry De-Lite dried cherries, Door County honey, handmade baskets, picture frames and tile pendants are also for sale.
